Nathan Chen is an American figure skater born May 5, 1999, in Salt Lake City, who won the gold medal in men's singles at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics after finishing fifth at the 2018 Pyeongchang Games. Nicknamed the Quad King for his mastery of quadruple jumps, he is a three time World Champion and six time United States national champion, and helped the American team win figure skating team event medals at both the 2018 and 2022 Olympics. He retired from competitive skating shortly after his 2022 Olympic win to focus on his studies at Yale University.
