Karin Enke

Karin Enke, later known as Karin Voss, is a retired German speed skater, born in 1961 in Dresden, who competed for East Germany and won three Olympic gold medals across the 1980, 1984 and 1988 Winter Games, taking gold in the 500 meters at Lake Placid in 1980 and in both the 1000 and 1500 meters at Sarajevo in 1984, for eight Olympic medals in all. She won the World Allround Championship five times, in 1982, 1984, 1986, 1987 and 1988, and the World Sprint Championship six times, and set ten world records over her career before retiring after the 1987-88 season.
