Cinch (card game)

Cinch, also known as Double Pedro or High Five, is an American trick-taking card game belonging to the all fours family, developed from Auction Pitch by way of the related game Pedro. It was created in Denver, Colorado during the 1880s and went on to become the most significant member of the all fours family played in the United States, before its popularity declined with the rise of Auction Bridge. Cinch is played with a standard fifty two card French deck, either by four players in fixed partnerships or by two to six players individually, with scoring generally continuing to a maximum of forty two or fifty one points depending on the variant played.
