Tute

Tute is a trick-taking card game of the ace-ten family, played for two to four players, that originated in Italy under the name tutti before spreading to Spain during the nineteenth century, reportedly carried there by returning Spanish troops, after which it became one of the most popular card games in the country. It is played with a forty-card Spanish-suited deck that excludes the eights and nines, and players score points both from cards captured in tricks, called bazas, and from bonus declarations made for holding specific card combinations, most famously calling tute for holding all four kings. The classic form of the game is played by two players, though the most widely played variant, tute in pairs, seats four players in two partnerships and typically lasts only eight to ten minutes per hand, with a full match continuing until a player or partnership reaches a preset number of game points, commonly three or six.
