Kenya National Athletics Team

The Kenya national athletics team is internationally renowned for its dominance in distance running, particularly the marathon and middle-distance track events, producing numerous Olympic and World Athletics Championship medalists. Much of the country's distance-running talent is drawn from the Rift Valley highlands, where high-altitude training and a strong domestic running culture have combined to make Kenya, alongside Ethiopia, one of the two most successful nations in the history of distance running.
