Sliding Sports

Winter sports in which athletes slide down a prepared ice track on a sled, timed over several runs. Bobsleigh is raced by crews in a steerable sled and luge by one or two athletes lying on their backs, and both are contested on the same type of refrigerated track. Every sport filed in this group belongs to the Winter Snow Sports category and has its own entry in the Sport and Games Atlas, from which a reader can follow links on to its leading athletes, its competitions and the governing bodies that set its rules.
