Alpine and Freestyle Snow Sports

Winter sports that use the fall line of a snow slope. Alpine skiing is raced downhill, through slalom gates and in combined formats, snowboarding is ridden on a single board in racing and freestyle events, and freestyle skiing is judged on jumps, tricks and moguls. These disciplines are governed by the FIS. Every sport filed in this group belongs to the Winter Snow Sports category and has its own entry in the Sport and Games Atlas, from which a reader can follow links on to its leading athletes, its competitions and the governing bodies that set its rules.
