Road Running Events

Distance running contested on public roads instead of a stadium track. The marathon of forty-two kilometres and the wider category of road running, which includes shorter road races, are the type cases. What belongs here is a running event held on a measured road course. Every sport filed in this group belongs to the Track and Field Disciplines category and has its own entry in the Sport and Games Atlas, from which a reader can follow links on to its leading athletes, its competitions and the governing bodies that set its rules.
