All Hurley and Crosse Games

Field team games played with a stick that is used to carry, strike or throw a ball toward the opposing goal, with roots in the stick-and-ball games of Ireland and North America. Hurling uses a broad-bladed hurley and a leather ball and is run by the Gaelic Athletic Association, and lacrosse uses a stick with a netted pocket and a rubber ball. Every sport filed in this group belongs to the Hockey Codes category and has its own entry in the Sport and Games Atlas, from which a reader can follow links on to its leading athletes, its competitions and the governing bodies that set its rules.
