Team ball sports played on an indoor court in which the aim is to throw or place the ball into a goal defended by the opposing side. Handball is the type case, played at speed with passing, dribbling and shooting by hand. It is kept apart from the hoop sports and the net sports because the target is a goal rather than a hoop or a net. Every sport filed in this group belongs to the Court and Net Team Sports category and has its own entry in the Sport and Games Atlas, from which a reader can follow links on to its leading athletes, its competitions and the governing bodies that set its rules.
