Scripted Combat Entertainment

Combat performance in which the contests are staged as entertainment, with planned outcomes and storylines performed by athletic professionals. Professional wrestling is the type case, combining real grappling skill with theatre. It is kept apart from the competitive grappling sports, where the result is decided by the contest itself. Every sport filed in this group belongs to the Combat Sports category and has its own entry in the Sport and Games Atlas, from which a reader can follow links on to its leading athletes, its competitions and the governing bodies that set its rules.
