All Mixed and General Martial Arts

Entries that combine striking and grappling in a single contest, or that name the broad family of martial arts as a whole rather than one discipline. Mixed martial arts allows both striking and grappling under unified rules, while the general martial arts entry covers the traditions and training systems from which the individual combat sports descend. Every sport filed in this group belongs to the Combat Sports category and has its own entry in the Sport and Games Atlas, from which a reader can follow links on to its leading athletes, its competitions and the governing bodies that set its rules.
