Pathfinder Roleplaying Game

Role-Playing Games

The Pathfinder Roleplaying Game is a fantasy role-playing game published by Paizo Publishing in 2009. Its first edition extends and modifies the System Reference Document based on the revised third edition of Dungeons & Dragons, released by Wizards of the Coast under the Open Game License, and was meant to stay backward-compatible with that edition. A second edition appeared in August 2019 with revised core rules that made it incompatible with first edition material and with any edition of Dungeons & Dragons. From 2023 the game moved to the Open RPG Creative license, and the second edition was remastered to remove content licensed only under the older license. The game is supported by official Pathfinder periodicals and by third-party content built to be compatible with it.
