A Penny for My Thoughts is a storytelling role-playing game by Paul Tevis, released by Evil Hat Productions in the summer of 2009. Its characters are amnesiacs who put leading questions to one another in order to discover their own histories, so the shared story is built through conversation rather than dice-driven combat. The game grew out of Tevis's entry in the Game Chef 2007 competition. Writer Shannon Appelcline places it with the kind of storytelling games that Hogshead Publishing had produced in its New Style line a decade earlier, and Wired called it very clever. It won the 2009 Indie RPG Awards prize for Most Innovative Game.
