The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) is the National Olympic Committee for India, founded in 1927 and headquartered in New Delhi, responsible for selecting and fielding India's Olympic team from a country of over a billion people. It oversees India's Olympic sport federations and, alongside its Olympic mandate, has coordinated India's hosting of major continental and Commonwealth multi-sport events, including the 1951 and 1982 Asian Games and the 2010 Commonwealth Games, both held in New Delhi.
