The Comite Olimpico do Brasil (COB), the Brazilian Olympic Committee, is the National Olympic Committee for Brazil, founded in 1914 and headquartered in Rio de Janeiro, the city that hosted the 2016 Summer Olympics, the first Olympic Games held in South America. It selects and fields Brazil's Olympic team and oversees the country's Olympic sport federations across a nation traditionally associated with strength in football, volleyball and combat sports such as judo and taekwondo.
