Multi-Sport Programmes gathers the sport entries that stand for a whole programme of sports contested together, as opposed to a single sport. A programme of this kind is defined by the list of sports it includes rather than by one shared set of rules or one playing surface, and it has no single international federation of its own. It is the natural target for bodies that oversee many sports at once, such as national Olympic committees, which coordinate athletes across the whole programme and so cannot be tied to any one sport without leaving out the rest of their remit.
