Denny Hulme was a New Zealand racing driver who lived from 1936 to 1992 and competed in Formula One from 1965 to 1974. Nicknamed the Bear, he won the Formula One World Drivers' Championship in 1967 driving for Brabham, becoming the only New Zealander ever to do so, and won eight Grand Prix races across ten seasons. He was also a two-time Can-Am champion, in 1968 and 1970, and his 22 Can-Am career wins stand as a series record.
