De Profundis (role-playing game)

Modern Hobby Strategy Games

De Profundis: Letters from the Abyss is a correspondence-based role-playing game created by Michal Oracz, originally published by the Polish company Portal in 2001 and translated into English by Hogshead Publishing in 2002. Rather than sitting at a table together, the two core participants play the game by writing and exchanging in-character letters describing a slow descent into cosmic horror and madness, in the tradition of H. P. Lovecraft's fiction, with optional rules extending play to a solo writer or to a larger group of correspondents.
