Supernatural Role Playing Game

Modern Hobby Strategy Games

The Supernatural Role Playing Game is a tabletop role-playing game published by Margaret Weis Productions in 2009, licensed from and based on the American television series Supernatural. Designed by Jamie Chambers, it casts one player as the Game Master while two to five other players take on the roles of hunters investigating and battling monsters, ghosts, and other supernatural threats drawn from the show's mythology. The game holds a notable place in tabletop gaming history as the final title published using the Cortex Classic System, an earlier version of Margaret Weis Productions' narrative-driven Cortex ruleset later revised for subsequent licensed games. Its horror and supernatural genre framing, combined with direct ties to the television series' characters and storylines, made it a niche but distinct entry among licensed tabletop role-playing games of its era.
