Illuminati (game)

Illuminati is a card game published by Steve Jackson Games in July 1982, designed by Steve Jackson and inspired by the 1975 novel series The Illuminatus! Trilogy. Players take the roles of rival secret societies competing for covert control of the world, building power by acquiring group cards that represent real and fictional organizations and drawing on satirical conspiracy theory tropes. The game is intended as a humorous send up of paranoid conspiracy thinking rather than a serious political statement. It is designed for two to eight players, with four to six recommended, and a session can run from about one to six hours depending on player count and the number of groups in play.
