HeroClix

Modern Hobby Strategy Games

HeroClix is a collectible miniatures game built around the Clix system, in which small plastic figures of comic book characters, chiefly from the DC and Marvel universes, are mounted on rotating dials that track a character's changing statistics and remaining health as combat unfolds. Originally designed and produced by WizKids, the game launched in July 2002 with the Marvel-themed starter set Infinity Challenge. After WizKids was acquired by Topps and later shut down in 2008, the National Entertainment Collectibles Association acquired the HeroClix property in September 2009 and relaunched production. Players assemble teams of clixed figures within a point budget and maneuver them across a grid-based map, using the combat dial to resolve damage, powers and knockback. The rulebook recommends two to four players for a standard match, though larger multiplayer games are possible.
