Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai (role-playing game)

Modern Hobby Strategy Games

Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai is a tabletop role-playing game published by Guardians of Order in 2000, licensed from the 1999 Jim Jarmusch film of the same name. Designed by David L. Pulver and John R. Phythyon Jr., it runs on Guardians of Order's Tri-Stat System, the same rules engine the publisher used across several of its anime and film licensed lines. The game lets players take on the roles of hitmen, gangsters and samurai-influenced loners within the film's blended world of contemporary urban crime and Bushido code, translating the film's central tension between old-world warrior discipline and modern organized crime into character creation and play mechanics built on the shared Tri-Stat rules chassis.
