A Game of Thrones (role-playing game)

Modern Hobby Strategy Games

A Game of Thrones is a tabletop role-playing game produced by Guardians of Order and published in 2005, based on George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire novels. It let players create characters from the great houses and free folk of Martin's world of Westeros and beyond, using rules built around the political intrigue, warfare, and family loyalty that drive the source novels rather than dungeon-crawling adventure. The game credited a large team of writers, including series co-creators Elio M. Garcia Jr. and Linda Antonsson, who helped keep the setting material consistent with Martin's own continuity ahead of the novels' later television adaptation.
