Dungeons & Dragons: The Fantasy Adventure Board Game

Dungeons & Dragons: The Fantasy Adventure Board Game is a dungeon crawling board game that Parker Brothers, then a division of Hasbro, released in 2002. It adapts the Dungeons & Dragons role playing game created by Wizards of the Coast into a boxed tabletop format meant for two or more players. Each participant controls a pre generated adventurer with its own abilities rather than building a character from scratch, and combat, trap detection and the turning of undead creatures are resolved with a set of specialized dice rather than the traditional polyhedral dice used in the source role playing game. Players can work through printed quest scenarios included in the box or use a blank map template to lay out their own dungeon and write their own adventure. The set was distributed only in European markets rather than receiving a general release in North America, making it a comparatively uncommon entry point into the D&D board game line for collectors and players outside Europe.
