Xena: Warrior Princess (card game)

Modern Hobby Strategy Games

Xena: Warrior Princess is an out-of-print collectible card game published by Wizards of the Coast and based on the Xena: Warrior Princess television series. It was released in May 1998 with an original set of one hundred eighty cards, followed by an expansion called Battle Cry, consisting of seventy five cards, in September of the same year. It was the second game released using Wizards of the Coast's ARC System and used a simplified version of the company's Deckmaster system, with four distinct card types: Resource, Character, Combat and Action. The game was played by two or more players, with a typical setup time of under five minutes and a full game usually finishing in under an hour. Its designers included Charlie Catinus, Mike Davis, Skaff Elias, Richard Garfield, Joe Grace, Jim Lin and Joel Mick, several of whom also worked on other Wizards of the Coast trading card games of the period.
