Twilight Imperium

Modern Hobby Strategy Games

Twilight Imperium is a science fiction strategy board game designed by Christian T. Petersen and first published by Fantasy Flight Games in 1997, now in a fourth edition released in 2017 with substantial changes from earlier versions. Three to six players, or up to eight with expansions, each command a spacefaring civilization competing for military, political, technological, and trade dominance across a modular galaxy board, pursuing public and secret objectives toward ten victory points that decide who becomes the new galactic emperor. The game is known for exceptionally long sessions, commonly running five to fourteen hours, reflecting its depth of diplomacy, combat, and economic management across many factions.
