Spies! is a strategy board game designed by John Prados and published by Simulations Publications, Inc. in 1981. It seats two to five players, each taking the role of one of the major European powers of the 1930s: France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy or Russia. Play centers on espionage in the years leading up to the Second World War, as each power tries to acquire the secrets of its rivals while protecting its own intelligence networks from discovery. The game reflects the diplomatic tension and covert maneuvering of the interwar period, turning historical spycraft among the great powers into a competitive board game system rather than a direct military simulation.
