Ysgarth is a fantasy role-playing game designed by Dave Nalle and first published in 1979 by Ragnarok Enterprises. Game historian Lawrence Schick described the system as complex and detailed. Ysgarth went through multiple editions over roughly twenty five years, built on custom mechanics rather than a standardized ruleset shared with other games. Its third edition, released in 1982, took the form of a boxed set containing six separate books totaling around 120 pages, covering character creation, combat, magic, clerical systems, worldbuilding and a sample adventure scenario, reflecting the game's reputation for depth and detail relative to other tabletop role-playing systems of its era.
