Saint Petersburg, published in Germany as Sankt Petersburg, is a card-driven Eurogame in which players build up a share of the growing city of Saint Petersburg by buying and playing cards representing workers, buildings, upgrades and aristocrats. The design is credited to the pseudonym Michael Tummelhofer, standing for a collaboration between Michael Bruinsma, Jay Tummelson and Bernd Brunnhofer, with most of the design work coming from Brunnhofer. The game was published in 2004 by Hans im Glueck and Rio Grande Games, and it won both the Deutscher Spiele Preis and the International Gamers Award that year. It is played by two to four players, has a playing time of about forty five minutes, and carries a medium level of chance. In 2014 a crowdfunding campaign produced a second edition with new artwork, rebalanced cards and a new expansion called The Market.
