Century: Spice Road is a tabletop strategy board game designed by Emerson Matsuuchi and distributed by Plan B Games in 2017, the first title in the Century series of trading-themed games. Set within a simulation of fifteenth-century spice trading, two to five players take on the role of merchants who collect, combine, and trade colored cubes representing valuable spices, using a hand of cards to convert cheaper spices into more valuable ones, trade goods with the market, or fulfil merchant contracts worth victory points. Players build up their card engine over the course of the game, gradually acquiring more powerful trading and upgrading abilities, and the game rewards efficient resource conversion and timing over direct player conflict, since there is no combat or direct interaction beyond competing for the same limited market resources and contracts.
