Unglued is a satirical, non-tournament-legal expansion set for the collectible card game Magic: The Gathering, released by Wizards of the Coast in August 1998. It was the first expansion built explicitly for humorous, casual play rather than competitive tournament use, distinguished by its cracked-egg card symbol and by cards that deliberately break or bend Magic's normal rules for comic effect, including cards built around themes such as chicken, dice rolling, and multiplayer games. Because its mechanics were intentionally incompatible with sanctioned tournament formats, Unglued was positioned from release as a set for casual multiplayer games among friends rather than ranked competitive play. The set developed a lasting cult following among casual players drawn to its joke cards and unconventional rules, and its success eventually led Wizards of the Coast to release further silver-bordered humor sets in later years, continuing Unglued's tradition of parody cards built on top of the base Magic: The Gathering card game system.
