Star Wars Customizable Card Game

Modern Hobby Strategy Games

Star Wars Customizable Card Game, abbreviated SW:CCG, is an out-of-print collectible card game set in the Star Wars fictional universe, produced by Decipher, Inc. from December 1995 until December 2001. Decipher also made the Star Trek Customizable Card Game and The Lord of the Rings Trading Card Game using related systems. Two players build decks from purchased or traded cards representing characters, starships, locations, and events, then use them to recreate battles and objectives drawn from the films, with a typical game taking about an hour to play after a setup of under a minute. Designers Tom Braunlich, Rollie Tesh, Warren Holland, and Jerry Darcy built the system around light and dark side forces contesting destiny and force point totals. Although Decipher's license lapsed in 2001, the volunteer Star Wars CCG Players Committee has kept the game active since 2002, issuing new virtual card releases every few months.
