Sim City: The Card Game

Modern Hobby Strategy Games

Sim City: The Card Game is a now out-of-print collectible card game published by Mayfair Games in 1995, adapting the city-building premise of Maxis's SimCity video game into a tabletop format. Players take turns playing cards that represent individual city blocks, gradually assembling their own city from the ground up on the table in front of them, while managing the economic side of development to collect profit as their city grows. As a collectible card game, it was sold in expandable card packs rather than one fixed box, encouraging players to build out a personal collection of city-block cards over multiple purchases, following the collectible card game sales model that was common in the mid-1990s tabletop gaming market.
