Netrunner is an asymmetric two-player card game set in a cyberpunk future, pitting a megacorporation player against a hacker, or runner, player in a contest over data, credits and secret agendas. It was originally designed by Richard Garfield and published as a collectible card game by Wizards of the Coast in 1996, then reimagined and reissued as the living card game Android: Netrunner by Fantasy Flight Games. Its design is noted for the strong asymmetry between the two player roles, each of which uses an entirely separate card pool and rule set.
