Nobilis

Modern Hobby Strategy Games

Nobilis is a contemporary fantasy tabletop role-playing game created by Jenna K. Moran, first published in 1999 by Pharos Press and later reissued by Hogshead Publishing in 2002 and Eos Press in 2011. Player characters are Nobilis, Sovereign Powers who each embody an abstract concept or class of things, such as death, roses, or the color blue, and who use their god-like authority to intervene in the modern world. The game is notable for abandoning dice entirely in favor of a point-based resource management system for resolving actions, giving it a distinctive, narrative-driven style compared to most tabletop role-playing games of its era.
