Arena of Death is a fantasy combat board game published in 1980 by Simulations Publications, Inc., built on the combat system from the first edition of the roleplaying game DragonQuest. Players control fantasy warriors and creatures fighting gladiator-style battles inside an arena, using DragonQuest's combat mechanics to resolve each bout rather than an original ruleset built from scratch. The game first appeared as a pull-out insert in issue four of SPI's Moves magazine in September 1980 before being released as its own standalone boxed product, a common publishing pattern for SPI titles of the era that let a magazine-format game find a wider audience as a dedicated release.
