The X-Files Collectible Card Game

The X-Files Collectible Card Game is an out of print collectible card game based on the fictional universe of the television series The X-Files. It was developed by NXT Games and published in 1996 by the United States Playing Card Company, a long-established American manufacturer of playing cards and card games that had moved into the collectible card game market during the mid-1990s boom that followed the success of Magic: The Gathering. The game drew its cards and themes directly from The X-Files television series, giving players tools built around the show's mythology of government conspiracies, paranormal investigations and the central characters Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. Despite entering the market during the height of collectible card game popularity, the game had a short commercial life, and production was discontinued in early 1998, only about two years after its initial release.
