WIXOSS is a Japanese gacha style strategy trading card game created by Hobby Japan with lead designer Shouta Yasooka, first published by Takara Tomy in April 2014 in Japan and brought to English-speaking audiences in November 2021. The card game sits at the center of a wider multimedia franchise built with animation studio J.C.Staff and Warner Bros. Entertainment Japan, whose fiction follows girls called Selectors who play the WIXOSS card game against each other in pursuit of a wish, with real consequences attached to winning and losing a match. The franchise grew well beyond the physical card game itself, spawning the anime series selector infected WIXOSS beginning in 2014 along with further seasons, manga adaptations, novels and mobile applications, making the card game both a standalone strategy product and the narrative engine of an ongoing multimedia property.
