Talisman is a fantasy adventure board game created by Robert Harris and first published by Games Workshop in 1983, in which two to six players each control a hero exploring a board divided into three concentric regions on a quest to reach the Crown of Command at its center and become the ruler of the realm. Movement is governed by dice, and landing on a space typically triggers a card draw that can grant treasure, trigger a battle, inflict a curse or otherwise alter a character's fate, with heroes gaining strength, gold and magic items as they progress. The game has been through five major editions and numerous expansions; Games Workshop published the earliest editions, Fantasy Flight Games held the license from 2008 to 2017, Pegasus Spiele published it from 2019, and Avalon Hill has produced the fifth edition as of 2025.
