Sword Lords is a 1981 fantasy battle board game published by Archive Miniatures and Game Systems. It lets two or more players either run one of its pre-designed battle scenarios or design and fight their own custom engagements using the game's system for building armies and terrain. Reviewing it for The Space Gamer in December 1981, W. G. Armintrout called the underlying idea entertaining and praised the physical components as wonderful, but said he could not recommend the edition as shipped because of problems with the rulebook, despite the otherwise polished production. The game sits among the wave of independently published tabletop fantasy battle systems that appeared in the early 1980s alongside the miniatures hobby's growth.
