Railways of the World is a railway-themed board game designed by Martin Wallace and Glenn Drover and published by Eagle Games, first released in 2005. It offers a simplified version of Wallace's earlier and more complex railway game Age of Steam, trading some of that game's harsher economic penalties for a more approachable structure while keeping its core idea of building track, running trains, and delivering goods for profit. The original edition was titled Railroad Tycoon after the video game series of the same name, with box art drawn from the third entry in that franchise; once the license to use that name expired, the game was republished as Railways of the World starting in 2009. It seats two to six players and is set in the eastern United States in 1830, where each player leads a new railway company competing to expand across the map.
