Monsters Menace America is a light strategy board game for two to four players, published in 2005 by Avalon Hill, at the time a subsidiary of Wizards of the Coast, and designed by J.C. Connors and Ben Knight. The game is a reworking of an earlier title, Monsters Ravage America, which had originally appeared before Avalon Hill's parent company was acquired by Hasbro in 1998, and the newer version streamlined its rules while adding plastic monster and military miniatures in place of the earlier cardboard pieces. Each player takes command of one of six giant B movie style monsters, named Gargantis, Konk, Megaclaw, Tomanagi, Toxicor and Zorb, and rampages across a map of the United States, smashing cities, battling the military forces sent to stop them and clashing with the other monsters competing for the same territory. A typical game runs about ninety minutes and is aimed at players twelve years old and up. Play builds toward a climactic Monster Challenge battle near the end of the game, in which the surviving monsters face off directly, giving the game a clear and dramatic conclusion rather than ending on a simple points count alone.
