Living Steel is a high-technology science fiction role-playing game published by Leading Edge Games in 1987 and designed by Barry Nakazono, using a simplified version of the publisher's own Phoenix Command rules system. The game was originally developed under the working title Rhand before being retitled Living Steel for its boxed-set release, which featured artwork and graphic design credited to Jon Conrad, Toni Dennis, Steve Huston, Scott Miller and Maggie Parr. Leading Edge later republished the game as a hardbound rulebook in 1988, folding the original boxed components into a single bound volume aimed at giving the line a more durable, bookshelf-friendly format than the original box.
