Living Forest is a 2021 board game designed by Aske Christiansen and published by Ludonaute that combines deck building with tile placement. Players take on the role of forest guardians working to rescue trees from Onibi, a fictional beast threatening the woodland, gradually building up their own deck of cards while expanding a shared tile based forest across the table. The game is intended for two to four players and a typical session lasts about forty minutes. Upon its release Living Forest received strongly positive reviews from the tabletop gaming community and went on to win notable industry awards, including the 2022 Kennerspiel des Jahres, which recognizes complex strategy games, and an As d'Or award in France.
