Legendary: A Marvel Deck Building Game

Legendary: A Marvel Deck Building Game, also known as Marvel Legendary, is a cooperative deck-building card game for one to five players, designed by Devin Low and published by Upper Deck Entertainment, a division of the Upper Deck Company, beginning in 2012. Each player starts with an identical basic deck and recruits hero cards from a shared central row into their own deck as the game proceeds, using the resulting improved deck to fight off a rotating series of villain attacks, mastermind tactics and scheme cards that threaten to end the game if left unresolved. The players win together by defeating the game's mastermind before the scheme deck runs out, and the game supports a large number of expansions drawing on individual Marvel Comics story lines and character rosters, letting players freely mix and match heroes and villains across sets. It was among the first major licensed applications of the deck-building genre that Dominion had established a few years earlier, adapting the mechanic into a fully cooperative superhero format.
