Aquarian Age

Aquarian Age is an out-of-print Japanese collectible card game produced by the anime-merchandise company Broccoli, which emerged around the year 2000. In the game, players take on the role of Mindbreakers, characters who command other characters rather than casting the spells or summoning the creatures typical of many other collectible card games, and the object of play is to defeat opposing Mindbreakers and grow stronger until either every opponent has been defeated or a player's own powers are lost. The game's setting is named after its own title: the Aquarian Age is a period beginning in the year 2000 in which several secret factions are depicted as struggling covertly for control of humanity's future, and the card game's storyline and card pool are built around that ongoing factional conflict. Beyond the card game itself, Aquarian Age grew into a small multimedia franchise, including a PlayStation video game adaptation, a line of comic books, and an anime television series titled Aquarian Age: Sign for Evolution, which featured a musical score composed by Yuki Kajiura.
