A Feast for Odin

Modern Hobby Strategy Games

A Feast for Odin is a Euro-style board game designed by Uwe Rosenberg, originally published in 2016 by Feuerland Spiele in Germany and licensed to Z-Man Games for North America. One to four players lead a band of Vikings through raiding, trading, farming, and settling, using polyomino tiles representing goods such as cabbage, mead, and whalebone to fill in a personal player board while minimizing empty spaces, which count against the final score. The game unfolds over seven rounds, or a shorter six-round variant, with each round lengthening as players accumulate additional workers to place on a shared action board. Its combination of worker placement for acquiring resources and spatial tile-laying for storing and scoring them gives the game unusual depth, and it has been praised for a cohesive, thematically engaged design built around the practical needs of a Viking household rather than combat or conquest.
