Starship Troopers: The Miniatures Game

Modern Conquest and War Games

Starship Troopers: The Miniatures Game was a short-lived miniature wargame released in 2005 by the UK company Mongoose Publishing under licence from Sony, drawing on Robert A. Heinlein's 1959 novel Starship Troopers, its films and its television series. Players commanded armies of the United Citizens Federation, the Arachnid Empire (the Bugs) or the Skinnie Hegemony. Mobile Infantry commanders could field platoons such as Light Armoured Mobile Infantry, Marauders, Power Armour, Pathfinders and Exosuits, while Skinnie armies depended on the choice of tribe leader and Arachnid armies were limited only by the hive's ability to breed units. Mongoose made 28mm plastic and pewter miniatures for it. The game won Best New Game at Origins, was pulled from shelves in 2007 and was formally discontinued a year later.
