Kaschlan

Kaschlan, also known as Kastellan or Kurrhahn, is a simple Prussian-origin card game related to the Russian game Durak and the German game Hund, and belongs to the family of shedding-type card games in which the object is to be the first player to get rid of all the cards in hand. It is designed for two to five players, with four generally regarded as the best number, and can be played with a thirty-two card Skat pack in either French or German suits, or with a standard fifty-two card French-suited deck. Play proceeds clockwise with cards ranked from ace high down through king, queen, jack, ten, nine, eight, seven and six, and a typical hand is quick, usually lasting only five to fifteen minutes, making Kaschlan a fast, casual relative of the better known Durak within the broader shedding-game tradition of Central and Eastern Europe.
